General symptoms of concern

  • jaundice fish
  • pre-spawn mortality – fish that die en-route to the spawning grounds, or fish that die unspawned on the spawning grounds (Lapointe et al 2003)
  • bleeding at base of fins
  • popped eyes
  • darkened skin
  • watery fluid in body cavity
